Are you worn out?

Are you a part of "worn out" humanity? I work at a high rise office building near Atlanta. It amazes me how many hours the average executive puts in each day. Most work from 10 to 12 hours a day. They arrive before the sun rises and leave long after the sun sets. As they stop by the security desk and sign out it is not unusual for me to hear them say, "I am so tired." Then they tell me of the work that has been left undone at home.

Do you know that our arch enemy Satan wants to wear the believer out? If he can get us weary and despondent, we become complacent in our priorities and lose our effectiveness for Christ.

Notice what Daniel says,

Daniel7:25, And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Even the Son of God took time to rest from his busy schedule. The devil often traps us at our greatest point of vulnerability. Most cannot cope with life feeling worn out all the time. It is hard to live a clean, disciplined Christian life when you are not mentally alert or rested.

Take some time this week to rearrange some of your priorities. Take care of your body and get some rest. Relax and spend quality time with your family. And, above all, don't neglect your relationship with Jesus. Isaiah tells us "They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength"(Isaiah 40:31).

My friend, don't let the devil tempt you to weariness. Trust in the Lord. In Jesus you will find rest.
